Crims, the hit series co-produced by Goroka, makes its debut in the international market

Onza Distribution presents at MIPTV 2022 “Crims“, the series co-produced by Goroka and True Crime Factory, which has been a real success during its broadcast in Spain. The production, which belongs to the true crime genre, is currently broadcast on TV3 and Movistar. Following its success in Spain, Crims made its debut on the international market during the Cannes event that took place from 4 to 6 April.

Directed by journalist Carles Porta, “Crims” has aired two seasons to public and critical acclaim and is already preparing its third season.

Crims

Crims was born from Catalunya Ràdio’s project of the same name, which explains crimes in a fictionalised way. Carles Porta’s charisma was transferred in 2020 to the television format, with a first season of eleven episodes that dealt with stories such as that of Brito and Picatoste (watched by 541,000 viewers), Josep Talleda, the warden of Olot or the librarian Helena Jubany, a case that was reopened partly due to the media repercussion of the episode.

The success of the Crims style is the result of careful journalistic research combined with an elegant, cinematographic visual treatment, with interviews with people linked to each case. An impeccable sound design rounds off the result. Crims presents the darkest side of the human being, and creates an atmosphere where the viewer -accompanied by Carles Porta’s voice-over- experiences the emotions in first person.

The series recounts more than 40 real crimes from the last 10 years. Unlike other productions in the genre, “Crims” does not feature experts talking about their work, but is based on the direct or indirect testimonies of the protagonists themselves, who relate their participation in the events, either because they lived through them or because they investigated them.
