The Hoxton Poblenou opens its doors in the Creative District

The Hoxton debuts in Barcelona’s creative community with its most ambitious hotel to date

The Hoxton, Poblenou has opened its doors in Barcelona’s Creative District, marking a before and after in the city as a multifunctional destination for locals and guests. Located within walking distance of the beach and destined to be a pillar of the local community, The Hoxton, Poblenou offers 240 rooms; a striking rooftop terrace with pool, Balinese hammocks and views of the Sagrada Familia.

It has two restaurants. On the one hand Tope, a rooftop bar and taqueria; and Four Corners, a pizzeria on the first floor that features a spacious and bright restaurant, a sun terrace, a pizza store and a wine cellar, a unique place to enjoy the best snacks, wines and craft beers of Barcelona. The hotel’s large and bright lobby is full of cozy corners and houses ‘Best Of‘, a store with products from local brands selected by the team at The Hoxton, Poblenou. To the left as you enter the lobby, three meeting and event spaces make up L’Apartment, along with La Cava, a multi-functional underground space that will host local cultural programming and social events.

For its first hotel in Spain, The Hoxton has chosen El Poblenou for its creative scene and local spirit, and for the attraction of being close to places of interest and the sea. Poblenou was established as an emerging neighborhood during the industrial revolution, when factories and textile companies began to be built, making the neighborhood forever part of the city’s history. In recent years, the 22@ urban regeneration project and also becoming the city’s Creative District, has seen the old factories converted into artists’ studios, design showrooms, craft breweries, restaurants and art schools, giving a new life to the neighborhood and establishing itself as one of the most cultural districts in the city. That is why it has joined Poblenou Urban District, the largest community in Barcelona, which currently has numerous design studios, art schools, vintage furniture stores and start-ups of young talents, specialty coffee establishments, vermuterías, creative spaces and artists’ studios, and holds contemporary art and design museums such as the Disseny Hub or the Can Framis Museum and the world-famous nightclub and concert hall Razzmatazz.

The evolution at The Hoxton

Much more than a hotel to spend the night, The Hoxton is one of the pioneering hotel concepts in creating spaces of great hospitality, leaving a significant footprint in the neighborhoods where it lands and always challenging the status quo. The Hoxton, Poblenou is the brand’s eleventh hotel. In recent years, it has opened properties in the most emerging neighborhoods in Europe and North America. To date, The Hoxton is present in cities such as London (in the neighborhoods of Shoreditch, Holborn and Southwark), Paris, Amsterdam, Rome (opening in May 2021), New York, Portland, Chicago and Downtown LA.
